Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
US actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per reports.
"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
