World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old secured four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.

A Season of High Performance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

In July, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and collected a record £11m in earnings.

She received nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".

Additional WTA Award Recipients

• Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking extended hiatus following the arrival of her first child and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
• Newcomer of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after beginning the season positioned beyond the world's top 300 and climbing to world number 18.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were voted after winning their second career Grand Slam title together.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after making five finals.

Last week, Carlos Alcaraz won three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
