Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
